Project Update: Rebuild and Enlarge Rockwell Elementary

Building finishes are well underway at the newly rebuilt and enlarged Rockwell Elementary. Workers are busy inside and outside, and are making great progress every day. The bridge decking connecting the library to the second floor will be installed this month. Crews are on track to finish this phase of construction by the end of July! Soon, you will start to see the outside area come to life with plants, paths and fun spaces to walk. Over the summer, the school district will start bringing in furniture and equipment.

The school celebrated several end of year milestones on June 10 – including their last Field Day, a final “Grad Walk” for high school seniors in the current building and a “Farewell Open House.” Students, staff and community members were invited to write messages on the walls of the school before demolition begins this summer.

The newly rebuilt and enlarged Rockwell Elementary is scheduled to open in fall 2026.
