The Lake Washington School District provides group instrumental music instruction for all 4th and 5th graders. The goals of this program are to introduce the student to performing music on an instrument, working within a group of other musicians, and help them progress to performing groups at the Middle School and Senior High level. The Redmond Region instrumental music programs have been very successful for several years, and we hope you and your child will choose to take part in this exciting and beneficial program.

Orchestra registration is open for both beginning and experienced 4th and 5th graders. Please register with the link below before Sept. 25th to make sure you are added to the program:

Orchestra classes meet before school at Clara Barton Elementary with Ms. Chen and Mrs. Dolgaya. The students will be brought back to their elementary schools after class by school bus. Instruction will start on the week of Sept. 25th, two days a week before school on different days depending on your instrument.

• The first day of beginning violin/viola is Monday Oct. 2nd.
• The first day of beginning cello is Friday Oct. 6th.
• The first day of experienced orchestra is Tuesday Oct. 3rd.

There will be a parent information night for orchestra on Thurs. Sept. 14th, 6:30pm in the Clara Barton gym. Please refer to the handouts below for schedule and materials needed for class. Looking forward to seeing you all in orchestra!

2023-2024 Rehearsal Schedule

Beginning Orchestra  (4th graders or 5th graders who have never played before)

Classes are before school from 8:00-8:40am on Mondays and Wednesdays (for violin and viola),

Wednesdays and Fridays (for cello). All classes are held in the Clara Barton Elementary gym.

Experienced Orchestra (students who have completed at least one year of instruction)

Classes are on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 8:00-8:40am in the Clara Barton Elementary gym.

 

2023-2024 Concert Schedule

Concerts will be held at the Redmond Middle School gym at 7pm. Please mark these dates in your calendars!
