Meet our New Principals!
Welcome to Rockwell, Mr. Couch!
My name is Adam Couch, and I am thrilled to join the Rockwell Elementary community. I am looking forward to getting to know each of you, and working together to provide our students with the best educational experience possible.
I come from a family that truly values education and teamwork. My wife Joy and I have been married for 25 years. She is an exceptional teacher of elementary Multilingual Learners. We have five wonderful children who keep us busy and constantly remind us that there is always more to learn. Our eldest is a senior in college at Saint Mary’s College of California. We also have a senior, junior, and sophomore in high school, and our youngest is entering sixth grade. All of our children are actively involved in various sports. We love spending time together,
I am from Cashmere, known as the home of Aplets and Cotlets. I completed both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees at Central Washington University. I have 24 years of experience in education, most of which I have spent as an elementary school principal. I am passionate about fostering a supportive and dynamic learning environment. My goal is to work collaboratively with you to continue Rockwell Elementary’s tradition of excellence and to ensure that every student feels valued as a learner, as a leader and has a strong sense of belonging.
I am excited about the journey ahead and am eager to contribute to the amazing work you are already doing at Rockwell Elementary. Thank you for welcoming me into your community. I look forward to meeting each of you and embarking on this new chapter together.
WELCOME TO ROCKWELL, MR. Dyson
Message from your new Associate Principal - Brian Dyson
Greetings! My name is Brian Dyson and I’m very excited to join the Rockwell team as Associate Principal. I come to Redmond by way of Tacoma and Aberdeen, where I served as Assistant Principal and Dean of Students respectively. Before that, I taught band and orchestra for 11 years in Renton and Seattle and achieved National Board certification in 2020. Serving as a teacher leader during this time sparked my passion for school leadership, which ultimately led me to where I am today. Personally, as a proud Washingtonian, I grew up in Tacoma, attended college in Bellingham (with a stint in Georgia for my Masters), and worked throughout the state. Outside of school, you’ll likely find me jogging around town, enjoying the outdoors with my wife, or perusing the local record or book shop. We also love to travel, whether near or far, and frequently visit Denver to see my sister and her family.
As a leader, I believe in putting people first, exercising shared leadership, and seeking personal and professional growth. These values, among others, will guide my leadership as I lead for equitable learning environments for all students. I look forward to partnering with staff, students, and families in this work. Again, I’m so excited to join the Rockwell community. Together, we can create opportunities for our learners to grow and thrive. I look forward to a wonderful year for all our students.
Go Beagles!
